Annual Campaign


One of the important goals here at the Ottumwa YMCA is that no one, especially our youth, will be denied membership or participation due to inability to pay. To achieve that goal, the YMCA conducts an annual fundraising campaign that raises money to keep our program costs down and to give financial assistance to local youth, adults and families who need the help. The campaign is organized by the Board of Directors, YMCA staff and many community volunteers.

            In our 2015 campaign, with the help of more than 60 volunteers, over $86,000 was raised in 2015. Money was raised from local businesses, service clubs and individuals! Many volunteers are needed for special events, writing thank you notes or join one of our fun calling teams! Come and help to make a difference in the lives of those in need! With the help and support of people just like you we will make a lasting impact right here in our community. This year our goal is to raise $90,000 in support funding! We can do it, but only with your help! So call or stop in today to get connected with this worthy cause and help the Ottumwa YMCA to build a stronger community!
            For our 2016 campaign we’ll be embarking on a Nationwide journey with many other YMCA across the United States and promoting a Nationwide Support Campaign. You’ll start to see the YMCA in national TV ads in prime time television reminding our communities that the YMCA is not an organization that’s a “nice to have” it’s a “must have” to support our youth, engage our community and help us grow and thrive.
